Reflexology Lymphatic Drainage
Reflexology Lymph Drainage, or RLD, is an evidence based, award-winning reflexology technique that involves a unique sequence of movements aimed at stimulating the effects of Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) or Lymphatic Drainage Massage.
The lymphatic system is an intricate network of vessels, nodes, and organs spread throughout the body. This vital system plays a crucial role in maintaining fluid balance, defending against infections, and eliminating abnormal cells and cellular waste.
This specialised form of reflexology and the techniques used are designed to stimulate the lymphatic reflexes on the feet, working to activate the body's lymphatic system. By doing so, RLD aims to help restore and maintain balance within the body and support the body's natural healing processes.
Originally designed to alleviate lymphedema in the arm, RLD is also thought to be beneficial for addressing lymphedema in other parts of the body, promoting overall relaxation and well-being.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK, and approximately 20% of patients develop secondary lymphedema in the arm following treatment. Lymphedema, characterised by tissue swelling due to disrupted lymph drainage, can pose significant challenges. It's important for individuals to receive the support and resources they need to manage the physical and emotional impact of this condition. Reflexology Lymphatic Drainage can be one way of supporting the physical body and offering emotional ease during a challenging time.
Although there is no cure for lymphedema, recent research suggests that Reflexology Lymph Drainage (RLD) may offer some relief from its symptoms. The research revealed that reflexology was a beneficial treatment for lymphedema following breast cancer surgery. RLD was found to reduce swelling and pain in the affected arm, leading to an improvement in quality of life. These results bring hope and comfort to those dealing with this condition.

Hear about the benefits of RLD Reflexology
Reflexology Lymphatic Drainage
“I have seen Gemma for treatments for a few years now. She provides a caring and nurturing experience each time and always gives helpful advice and ideas; best of all, I come home totally relaxed. More recently she has suggested reflexology for some immune system boosting and total body treatment which I feel is really beneficial to me”.
